Macku Michal

1985 Technological Faculty of the Polytechnic Institute in Brno.
1989 Institute of Art Photography at Prague.

Until 1991 he worked at the Sigma Olomouc Research Center. Then he taught at the Pedagogical Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc. He has lived as a freelance artist since 1992. Michal has started with photography since the age of 15. He is also interested in sculpture, drawing, and graphics. In 1989, he created his own photographic technique which he has named "Gellage". He continues to use and develop this technology in his still-photo art work. He also works with historical large format negative photographic processes and. At the cooperation of Czech Television Brno, has made an animated Gellage film named Process From 2000 he started to work also with historical photography techniques, especialy carbon printing. From 2005 he expands his photography work to the third dimension making glass photographic objects.

His works were showed all over the world and can be find in many important collections.
